Webinar: Stabilizing scFv-Based Multispecifics
Join our webinar on November 3rd at 3:00 pm to discover how AAX Biotech’s Opti-mAb® technology can address scFv instability and support the development of complex multispecific antibodies. In this webinar, experts from AAX Biotech and evitria share new data on scFv-containing bi- and trispecific formats and discuss how the technology works alongside evitria’s CHO-based expression platform.

Addressing scFv Developability Challenges
Engineering multispecific antibodies often means working with single-chain variable fragments (scFvs) — elegant in design, but challenging in practice. Instability, aggregation, and poor expression frequently emerge, limiting manufacturability and slowing lead selection.
Enter Opti-mAb® technology from AAX Biotech: a proprietary molecular stabilization strategy for scFvs. This scFv-focused approach is designed to address key developability risks at the design and optimization stage, before they become downstream problems.
”Combined with evitria’s 15 years of experience and our robust, CHO based transient expression platform, the technology can be applied to design, express, and screen a diverse range of molecules. The result: higher titers, improved quality, and consistent manufacturability, even for the most complex antibody constructs.”
Webinar Agenda: scFv Stability and New Data on Multispecifics
In this webinar, Daniel X. Johansson, CEO/CSO at AAX Biotech, will introduce the stability issues of scFvs that led to the development of Opti-mAb® and present the improvements in yield, aggregation and stability that Opti-mAb® brings to scFvs, scFv-containing bispecifics (Blinatumomab) and CAR-T.
At evitria, we then took it one step further and tested the Opti-mAb® technology in 3 different, more complex asymmetric bi- and trispecific formats that had previously shown significant aggregate formation upon expression. Julia Pizzolato will share brand-new data comparing the original and Opti-mAb® versions side by side in terms of expression, purity, and stability after a range of stress tests.

About evitria
evitria is an established, global antibody engineering and expression service provider located in Zurich, Switzerland specialized in CHO based transient expression of antibodies (including bispecific, multispecific, fusion antibodies) and other proteins. Leveraging long standing expertise, a proprietary CHO-based expression platform and HTP screening, evitria derisks early-stage candidate development in complex formats within the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. evitria AG is part of the Atlas Antibodies group of life science companies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Patricia Industries.
About Julia Pizzolato PhD
Julia Pizzolato works at the intersection of protein engineering, antibody design, and scientific communication. After completing her PhD at the University of Zurich, she spent 10+ years in biotherapeutics R&D, protein characterization, and analytics for biomanufacturing at several companies in Switzerland. At evitria AG, she supports customers and project teams with technical consultation, feasibility assessments, and training materials, and helps troubleshoot low-expressing or otherwise difficult proteins. She also contributes to internal technology development and process improvements.
